Quality Basics, high performance Standards

At Élan Vital Dressage, our vision is to provide a boutique, high-performance experience for clients seeking exceptional training and carefully selected horses for both competition and personal enjoyment. Every horse and rider partnership is developed with the future in mind, ensuring long-term success through classical foundations and modern, performance-driven methods.

Founder Blaire Macall Martindale is a USDF Bronze & Silver Medalist with nearly two decades of experience in the FEI arena. A lifelong student of classical dressage, she has trained under some of the most respected names in the sport and continues to refine her program with the same dedication she brings to her clients. Blaire’s philosophy combines quality basics, biomechanics, and refined rider development — setting an international standard within a personalized program.

Blaire’s journey began under the mentorship of Major Jeremy Beale, celebrated British Olympian, USDF Gold Medalist, and renowned clinician. His meticulous approach to harmony and balance laid the foundation of Blaire’s career, helping her earn a place on the 2008 NAJYRC Team before the age of 18.

She then trained with Olympian Lisa Wilcox, whose program reflected the high standards of a European-style barn in the U.S. This period gave Blaire valuable insight into precision, structure, and the daily expectations required to produce horses and riders to the international level.

She was also honored to work under Olivia LaGoy-Weltz, a Grand Prix rider shortlisted for multiple U.S. teams, where she deepened her expertise in horse biomechanics and traveled with the U.S. team, gaining firsthand insight into international standards.

To further broaden her perspective, Blaire has trained extensively with many of the sport’s leading professionals, including:

Endel Ots (Olympian, current mentor and coach)

• Conrad Schumacher

• Axel Steiner

• Laura Graves

• Lars Petersen

• Jo Hinnemann

• Christoph Umbach

Today, Blaire trains closely with Olympian Endel Ots, who is actively competing on the international circuit. As part of her team, Endel not only guides her riding but also keeps her focused on her long-term competitive goals. Together, they are preparing Blaire’s new mount for the international CDI circuit, with sights firmly set on the 2027 Pan-American Games.

At Élan Vital Dressage, riders can expect a client-curated program that blends classical principles with modern performance insights. Each horse and rider receives individualized attention, thoughtful progression planning, and access to a network of top professionals. Whether the goal is international sport or a more harmonious daily partnership, our standard is the same: excellence, integrity, and true dedication to the art and science of dressage.
